About this piece
Sixty-six inches. Like a flower, if the flower were bronze and had a grudge.
Bronze currency, 20th century. In many parts of Africa, elongated metal objects shaped like tools or weapons served as money and as signs of status. Here several broad, spatula-like blades fan outward from a bound collar at the top, like the petals of an open flower. A long, straight shaft carries the eye down to a square base. The metal is dark, dull, lightly worn.
A corner will do. An entry will do better.
