About this piece
He stands with one fist closed and the other hand holding a horn. Whatever he is about to say, he has had a drink first.
Ashanti, Ghana, twentieth century. A bronze figure four and a half inches tall, thin legged and bearded, with a ringed waist. He stands on a loop of metal as a base. The surface is dark, with a silvery sheen where the surface has been handled.
Ashanti metalwork is famous for small things with large character. The horn at his side is a pleasant detail.
Place him at the end of the bar. He will fit right in.
