About this piece
Less than an inch tall, and already thinking it over.
Chad, 20th century. Miniature lost-wax castings of people and animals have long been made in the region, often catching an everyday posture with lively economy. This bronze sits with knees drawn up, one forearm across them, the other hand holding up a tilted head. Rest, or reflection.
Large round eyes. Small projecting ears. A gentle, attentive face, and a small hole through the top of the head. The golden bronze has worn bright on the high points and kept a greenish patina in the hollows.
Small enough to carry. Serious enough to consult.
