Congolese Wood Textile Hanger

A textile hanger from the Republic of Congo, carved in the 20th century, made to hang and present cloth. One end is a small carved head shaped like a pointed bud, finely incised and set off from the shaft by a narrow collar. From there the rod runs long and straight, swells slightly, and tapers to a fine point. Deep reddish-brown wood with a gentle sheen.

Hold it above a doorway and let the room admire the horizon.
