Amulets & Pendants

A silver pendant at a Saharan collarbone, a plaque amulet under a shirt in India. Protection has always come small. Contemporary amulets and pendants in silver, brass, agate and glass, made today in old forms. Hindu plaque amulets with Hanuman, Ganesha or Devi, Ethiopian-style crosses, Tuareg and Berber silver pendants, carved agate, old eye beads set as single drops. Each carries protective or devotional meaning. Cast, stamped or hammered by hand, they wear close to the skin and darken softly with use. One pendant on a fine chain or a leather cord has more presence than its size suggests.

In the collection now: Gan Crescent Shaped Serpent Pendant, Indian Plaque Amulet Depicting Feet of Vishnu, and Indian Plaque Amulet Depicting Seven Sisters.
