Blankets & Throws
In Tibet an endless knot becomes a blanket, woven so that either face may show. Blankets and throws here run to wool, cashmere, silk and hide. Tibetan love-knot blankets take their pattern from the endless knot, one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism. Cashmere and wool bed throws in abstract patterns, Pendleton blankets in Lakota designs from the American West, and horsehair and leather pieces add weight and warmth. A folded throw at the end of a bed, a cashmere blanket over a reading chair; soft wool against leather and stone makes a room feel lived in. Evenings improve at once.
