Hurricanes

A veranda in the evening, a breeze off the water, and a candle that stays lit. Hurricanes are glass shades that shelter a flame from drafts, a form used for centuries on verandas, dining tables and in breezy halls. Tall cylinders of clear and hand-blown glass, set on bases of brass, wood or stone, turn a pillar candle into a column of light. A pair on a dining table, a row along a garden-room ledge or a single tall hurricane on an entry console carries candlelight safely into rooms where an open flame would flicker out. Weather, politely declined.

In the collection now: Brass Bedford Hurricane, Brass Bedford Hurricane, and Sloane Medium Hurricane.
